Day 1: Transfer From Kampala to Queen Elizabeth National Park

After an early breakfast at your place of stay in Kampala, you’ll be picked up at 6:00 am by your driver guide to embark on a 420 km or 6-7 hours drive to Queen Elizabeth National park– the most famous park in Uganda.

You’ll make a stop en-route at Uganda equator Kayabwe (77km from Kampala) for incredible photoshoots while standing in either hemisphere of the earth or have an equator water experiment plus buying souvenirs for your safari in Uganda from the craft shops around and after you proceed for lunch- delicious cultural dish at Igongo Cultural Centre- 12km to Mbarara town.

After, embark on the drive to Queen Elizabeth Park through the spectacular countryside offering scenic views of tea and banana plantations, several herds of long-horned Ankole cattle, and superb views of the Rwenzori Mountains. Upon arrival, you’ll check in at the Lodge for relaxation, dinner, and overnight.

Day 2: Do Morning Game Drive & Afternoon Kazinga Channel Launch Cruise

After breakfast at around 7.00 am, you’ll go for a 3- 4 hour game drive in Kasenyi plains. You’ll start your day with grazers coming out from their hidings to feed and if lucky also you can spot lions hunting. On the drive, you’ll spot elephants, buffaloes, hippos, crocs, lions, leopards, hyenas, common warthogs, antelopes counting topis, Uganda kobs, waterbucks, bushbucks, oribis, etc.

Since Queen Elizabeth Park is among the birders’ haven in Uganda boasting over 600 bird species, you’ll also encounter bird species including the Martial eagle, Palm-nut vulture, Kingfishers, African fish eagles, Black bee-eaters, Grey crown cranes, Lappet-faced vulture, Brown snake eagle, Long-created eagles, African Wattled plover, Black-bellied bastard, etc.

Retreat from the activity, settle for lunch, and embark on a 2 pm boat cruise on Kazinga Channel. This 2-hour boat trip will offer you an opportunity to view at a close range 100s of hippos submerged in water- the highest concentration in the world. You’ll also get amazed by the large numbers of crocodiles, elephants, and buffaloes on the shore plus water birds including saddle-bellied storks, pink-backed pelicans, yellow-billed storks, etc.

Day 3: Do Morning Game Drive/ Optional Chimpanzee Trekking In Kyambura Gorge

After an early breakfast at around 7.00 am, you’ll transfer to the park for another game drive to explore more games and even spot those that you might have missed the previous day and then embark on the transfer to Kampala.

Alternatively, embark on a 2- 3 hours chimpanzee tracking encounter in Kyambura gorge, starting at 8.00 am. This thrilling encounter will expose you to the spectacular Kyambura gorge- a mysterious 100m deep rainforest canyon in a midst of the dry Savannah of Queen Elizabeth park. Hiking the gorge’s steep slopes in search of chimps is a challenging task, however, a memorable experience worth undertaking.

While on the hike, you’ll spot numerous amazing primates counting the black-and-white colobus monkeys, olive baboons, vervet and red-tailed monkeys plus numerous birds like the beautiful great blue turaco, African fin foot, black-and-white casqued hornbills, black bee-eaters, and blue bellied kingfishers, etc.
