Day 1: Transfer From Kampala to Queen Elizabeth National Park
Your driver guide will pick you up at 6:00 am from your Kampala city hotel after an early breakfast in order to drive you the 420 km—or 6-7 hours—to Queen Elizabeth National Park, the most well-known park in Uganda.
You’ll make a stop en route at Uganda equator Kayabwe (77km from Kampala) for incredible photoshoots while standing in either hemisphere of the earth or have an equator water experiment plus buying souvenirs for your Uganda safari from the craft shops around and after you proceed for lunch—a delicious cultural dish at the Igongo Cultural Centre—12 km to Mbarara town.

Day 2: Do the Game game drive and the afternoon Kazinga Channel Launch Cruise
After breakfast at around 7 am, you’ll go for a 3- to 4-hour game drive in the Kasenyi Plains. You’ll start your day with grazers coming out of their hiding places to feed and if lucky, you can also spot lions hunting. On the drive, you’ll spot elephants, buffaloes, hippos, crocs, lions, leopards, hyenas, common warthogs, antelopes counting topis, Uganda kobs, waterbucks, bushbucks, oribis, etc.
Since Queen Elizabeth Park is among the birders’ haven in Uganda, boasting over 600 bird species, you’ll also encounter bird species including the Martial eagle, Palm-nut vulture, Kingfishers, African fish eagles, Black bee-eaters, Grey crown cranes, Lappet-faced vulture, Brown snake eagle, Long-created eagles, African Wattled plover, Black-bellied bastard, etc.
Retreat from the activity, settle for lunch, and embark on a 2 pm boat cruise on Kazinga Channel. Day 3: Do Morning Game Drive/Optional Chimpanzee Trekking In Kyambura Gorge
After an early breakfast at around 7 am, you’ll transfer to the park for another game drive to explore more games and even spot those that you might have missed the previous day and then embark on the transfer to Kampala.
Alternatively, embark on a 2- to 3-hour chimpanzee tracking encounter in Kyambura Gorge, starting at 8 am. This thrilling encounter will expose you to the spectacular Kyambura Gorge, a mysterious 100-meter-deep rainforest canyon in the midst of the dry Savannah of Queen Elizabeth Park. Hiking the gorge’s steep slopes in search of chimpanzees is a challenging task, but a memorable experience worth undertaking.
